Background: Adequate and balanced nutrition has a major role for optimal health for the rapid growth and development of infants and toddlers. Nutritional problems that often arise in infants and toddlers include allergies, obesity, diarrhea, protein energy deficiency, obesity, GAKY and anemia. Factors causing these nutritional problems include lack of parental knowledge of nutritional needs, incorrect nutritional information, unattractive presentation and unvaried food menus. Good and correct meal management is very necessary, therefore preparing the menu must be in accordance with the needs of toddlers. Objective: To increase the knowledge of mothers regarding the preparation of food menus in toddlers to improve the nutritional status of children. Methods: counseling and demonstration of compiling a list of food menus using leaflets, posters and draft menu arrangement sheets with the target of mothers who have toddlers aged 1 to 5 years coming to posyandu as many as 20 people. Results: based on the evaluation of counseling shows the average pre-test value with a post-test value of 66.45 and 90.45 respectively with a significant value of p=0.000 which means that this counseling has an effect in increasing knowledge and improving the attitude of mothers regarding the preparation of food menus for toddlers with balanced nutrition principles. Conclusion: the importance of education about the preparation of food menus and how to process food to fulfill balanced nutrition in toddlers.
